So FL was brought into a book where her sister is the main female lead. She read this book in her past life, it was a real book, her sister was the protagonist. And we learn that her sister poisoned her and stole her fiancee and played up her innocence to everyone else. This isn't a "Oh my god, I didn't know because the story wasn't from her perspective," moment, this is a thing that readers of the in universe story generally know.
I hate when stories within stories are so bad. Like, how many stories have you read where you're rooting for the protagonist to lie to everyone and poison her innocent sister and then frame her mother for the murder? If the sister that was poisoned was actually evil then that'd make sense, but no. She's pretty innocent, the in-universe reader knows this.
It really kills my suspension of disbelief when they talk about a popular in-universe story and they describe the worst story possible that'd only be shelf filler collecting dust. Who reads that story? Why do they read it? Is it an ironic thing where it's so bad and weird that it gets a small devoted cult following?
The Korean one seems to be "I Don't Need a Trashy Sub-Male Lead." and synopsis talks nothing about step-family, dying 21, coming back in time or poison.
