The Poor Baroness’s Territory Reform ~I Want Nothing to Do with the Crown Princess Competition~

Miliage is a beautiful young baroness whose family controls a poor territory. Although she would normally prefer a quiet life, her beauty becomes a problem when the Crown Prince announces that he wants to marry the most beautiful woman in the kingdom. Miliage is consequently selected as one of his potential brides. Rather than being flattered, she is horrified. She believes the Crown Prince is so incompetent that if he becomes king, the entire country could suffer. So Miliage decides that winning the Crown Princess competition isn't important. Her priority becomes saving her impoverished territory and improving the lives of her people. Using her intelligence and determination, she begins working on reforms despite having very limited resources. She also becomes involved with an orphanage and tries to help local people develop skills that will allow them to support themselves. While working toward these goals, Miliage unexpectedly develops feelings for someone other than the Crown Prince, setting off a series of romantic and political complications. The story combines territory reform, noble politics, romance, and a capable heroine who would rather build a better life for her people than become Crown Princess.
