ML's reaction is weird because:

  1. It was stated near the start of the chapter that being someone's "Fan" doesn't necessarily imply romantic interest, it can just mean the Fan supports them
  2. He's seemingly madly in love with FL, but he never bothered to try, I don't know, writing her a letter back? He just waited for a specific party to speak to her for the first time in years, and that was to propose to her? Dude only has two modes, 0 and 100.
