It allways stupid to threat people with nothing but a lover. He has nothing to lose from your threat. Yes he will lose girl that he loves but probably after that he will kill himself. So instead of an heir he will recive 2 dead bodies.
he must have threaten their everyday life. Like place to live, way to earn money and etc. so they can't live even inside forest.
