I'm betting the photo the prince keeps in his desk is of the woman he actually loves, and had to distance himself from for the good of the kingdom to marry the Princess.
The Fraud Princess doesn't seem to grasp that the princess' "sin" of having a special birthmark is literally why this kingdom wants her, so Fraud Princess isn't saving the royal family from anything but salvation.
