It's hard for me to like Lady Anastasi or take her dislike of the fiance seriously, given the original game indicates she'd be willing to sleep with him despite knowing he's engaged.
I think relating too much of the game world vs this new reality is unnecessary & unfair. It’s a world similar to the game world but the inhabitants don’t have to be dictated by the mechanisms of the game. Case in point, there’s little indication of what Elizabeth was like in the game I don’t think. So Anastasia can like sweets, be hard to approach, but is a genuinely good and morally right person.
plus, I’m starting to think it isn’t very public knowledge about Gilbert and Elizabeth being publicly engaged. Not that it’s ever stopped anyone else in stories like this. But still.
