You know, I am from the Netherlands, where our King (crown prince back then) threatened to discard his right to the throne if he wasn't allowed to marry the woman he loved. This caused huge political unrest not only because the woman was a commer, but also because her parents "were wrong in a war" (and as consequence, were also not allowed to attend the wedding). But here is the thing, the woman he choose was absolutely exceptional.
That too, was "marrying for love". But even in modern day, Royalty is only allowed to marry for love if it benefits the country. The crown prince in this story very much forgot his place.
Bless you for the perspective. No royalty = no context, my American ass is at a disadvantage trying to understand the weight of monarchical systems. XD Love to hear about some real world examples.
But there's also an incredibly bad example in Norway with crown prince Haakon and his wife Mette-Marit and last 2-3 years it only gets worse
I heard Netflix actually made a soap based on their story (but I haven't watched it, because I have no Netflix) though it's a "based on" and not "in collaboration with", so do take it with a cup of salt. It's called Maxima (our current Queen's name).

my greatest wish is that he somehow now has a job with our original female lead and her duke husband and living a much better life.Given how little the prince seems aware of anything at all, I'm still holding out hope that Conrad gets a happily-ever-after (and maybe is the one who punches the prince in the face at the end of chapter 1).
So proud of that boy in ch8 for defending his sister. So hope he doesn't get beheaded for it though....

how much happier this entire kingdom will be when the crown prince and his bratty wife and daughter are finally deposed. How much longer must we wait!? i imagine the kingdom will burn an effigy of the two useless wenches and celebrate!kid deserved to be punched like that
This is a very solid story with good artwork. This feels like one of those stories that I'll happily revisit in the future when it's over. And that's an important thing to note too, "When it's over." I feel like a lot of manga don't give us an impression on what the ending will look like or when we'll get it, but with this story it feels like the author knows what the ending is and how they want to get there, and with the pace we've had in the first three chapters it feels like the author wants to get there without any unnecessary delay.
The artwork really is terrific. So much attention to detail. Sally's fingernails are even subtly ragged in more recent panels with a clear enough view of her fingertips, since she's got a wicked nail biting habit. I love the little touches like that.

That said, this could be more wishful thinking on my part, but I think we did get to see enough of the guard's face to make an identification. Black patch over the right eye. 'Sup, Conrad.
