The transformation of the noble girl once called ugly into a captivating woman
Clara Bell, a simple countryside girl, enrolled in the noble academy in the capital after quickly advancing through several grades — all just to catch up with her fiancé, Alan, a boy from her village. But her greatest shock awaited her on her very first day at the academy… when she saw with her own eyes her fiancé cheating on her with another girl! As if that wasn’t enough, he humiliated her publicly, saying: “I could never love a plain and boring girl like her!” Heartbroken and alone, Clara Bell cried quietly… until Princess Victoria, fiancée of the third prince, approached her and offered a helping hand. Victoria takes her to the student council room, where Clara Bell meets Lloyd, a handsome young man with a sharp tongue and a commanding presence. With their help, Clara Bell makes a bold decision: “I want to change… I want to become a beautiful noble lady who turns heads!” And so begins her incredible transformation journey — enduring harsh training to change both her appearance and her spirit. Not just to get back at her unfaithful fiancé… but to discover her true self, her real worth… and perhaps, even her true love.

I did it. I finished it. I read the whooooole thing, and IT’S SO GOOD.
This is light and wholesome. Themes primarily center around coming into your own, gaining confidence, righting mistakes, moving forward. It’s a very positive, hopecore-type vibe and I am here for it on so many levels.
FMC, Clarabelle, takes the ugly duckling arc. Her fiancé cheats on her, but she uses it to fuel positive change.
ML, Lloyd, mirrors the fiancé, as both suffer from inferiority complexes. However, he recognizes his shortfalls and sets out to correct them before progressing his relationship with Clara.
The fiancé, Alan, has an inferiority complex further complicated by his efforts to keep up with the crowd. Fantastic fall from grace and redemption arc. Genuinely one of best character arcs I’ve read in AGES.
There’s a substantial supporting cast to fall in love with, and I love that every character, even if built simply, is rounded out into an actual person instead of a caricature.
Please read. It’s so worth it.
