Read up to chapter 4 and it's... Convoluted. So, there are 4 parties at Play, FL, ML, prince, and princess. Princess gave an aphrodisiac to ML to make him fall in love with her, but now prince needs to fix the situation because it can't be known that princess did that so FL takes the fall. ML is told FL did it under the orders of Princess and that the Princess' plan was to frame FL for being a sole conspirator and FL listened because she loved him, (which then goes against the prince's plan to keep the princess free of blame) Anyway, ML likes this and they haven't explicitly ruled out that the aphrodisiac isn't affecting him but he does say he liked FL before that, so now he hires FL to work for him and FL thinks that he's doing it to keep an eye on her because he thinks she's a criminal and it's just a lot to keep track of who knows what and what's the truth. It feels like so SO much of this could've been fixed with one conversation with everyone present since I don't think the prince has a good reason to lie to the ML but I don't even know if he's lying to him because that sounds closer to the truth than what he told the FL.
this story makes me want to scream. Please, people... communicate clearly your intentions! feelings put into action alone don't get across what a few words can! argh! so frustrating!
