What i have been reading so far of this story makes the first scene in the book make no sense. It probably will make sense later, but with how the story is going so far not really. I do love the story so far though and I am excited from more chapters!

Is the queen bipolar or something? She goes from saying her son should share the punishment of the knights and she wishes he had never been born, to saying she was willing to do anything just to make sure he was born and he's the most important thing to her, all in the span of minutes. Lyle asks if he's an unwanted child, and she says no, even though she just said she wishes he'd never been born.
Now I want more interactions with all the characters. So wholesome! ☺️
