The wife who returned from the dead avenges herself with elegance
“Why me? Why am I the one being sentenced to death?” With eyes burning with rage and hatred, Catherine stood on the execution platform, staring at the world that had betrayed her. Three years ago, Catherine was sent from her homeland, Woltilla, to the Kingdom of Highland as the Crown Prince’s wife. But instead of a peaceful royal life, she was caught in filthy conspiracies, framed for crimes she never committed, and sentenced to death. Her tongue was torn out during torture, leaving her voiceless in her final moments. The crowds cursed her, screamed at her, and rejoiced in her suffering… And in the midst of this overwhelming injustice and pain — her head fell, and her life came to a tragic end. But fate had other plans for her… When she opened her eyes again, she found herself back in time — three years before her death, right at the moment when her tragedy first began. “This is an opportunity I can’t waste!” And so begins Catherine’s cold and graceful revenge, determined to bring down every single person who betrayed her — one by one. A royal revenge story… of a woman wronged by everyone, now returned to become their worst nightmare.

Must admit I am enjoying it but the King has to go he's very clearly encouraging and enjoying the hijinks his younger son is getting up to. He recognizes his eldest son is easily swayed and it seems as though he views it as a character flaw but can't disregard the tradition of the first son succeeding him. The whole family is awful Hailys is just slightly LESS awful.
From reading up to chapter 37, it blows my mind that everyone has had their characters described and understood since chapter 2 or something but somehow everytime the crown prince is brought up its a surprise he gets swayed by emotions. I get that he has be basically built that what by the royal family so that he is easy to control but for fucks sake, the FL is always suprised that his name is used for something he probably wouldn't do or a plan he wouldn't have come up with. An early example is when the maid who is trying to destroy the FL is caught first she asks who recommend her for the position and the dumb ass crown prince says "it was me sorry" and literally the next page we find out it really wasn't him but under the recommendation of his sister-in-law. And this is not a problem with how he is written as a character, he was made to be used but the fact that the author wants to make this a romance with him as the first or second ml in insane to me. I came for revenge but honestly doesn't feel like any is happening at all. Even the whole pretext for the war is dumb since we know the FL kingdom is weak and would lose a war super easily, like just start the war and be done with it.
I have mixed feelings about this. First things first, I feel like she's too forgiving, like she allied with a maid who abused her. Later, she falls for her husband, who abandoned her before and let her get executed, and chooses him over the knight who probably brought her back to life and was on her side even in her past life. Like the dude was always there and always believed her. Like that's getting on my nerves. Why do we have to follow standard cliche plots? It would have been more interesting that she started cheating on her husband with a knight (the husband doesn't get redemption) and she manages to get her revenge on every single person who abandoned her, even her dad, bc when she pleaded for her life to not get married, he just left he and told her to die cuz that's her duty as a princess. Like, I really wished every single person got what they deserved. This story had such potential, being like a dark story with questionable morals and more action, and the story to be an actual villainess story.
Who was the guy who gave her the cross necklace?
Haysttt
Ich glaube es ist alles der Plan der komischen Frau und des Emperor. Bestimmt in Zukunft einige Söldner ziehen sich die Soldatenklamotten von Ihren Heimatland an und starten ein Mordspektakel an
Ah, they want to eliminate her in the way 😌
