The Beloved Imperial Consort's Melancholy
The plot follows Myōka, the strong-willed daughter of a general in the Dawn Empire. She grew up alongside the crown prince (and now emperor) Seiran, witnessing the constant threats against his life. Determined to protect him, she dedicated herself to becoming a soldier and his personal guard. However, her plans are completely upended when Seiran, now the emperor, unexpectedly announces her as his chosen consort. From Myōka's perspective, this seems like a frivolous and impulsive decision on his part. She feels trapped and frustrated, believing her dream of protecting him as an equal has been stolen, replaced with the "powerless" role of a palace wife. What she doesn't know is that Seiran's decision is born from a deep desire to protect her. He fears the dangers of his own life would put her at risk if she were a guard on the front lines. By making her his consort, he believes he can keep her safe within the palace walls.

ML wants to keep her save? LOL. Then let her be the bodyguard. Generally, being emperor's consort is often more dangerous occupation, especially if you haven't been trained into how to handle palace politics. Of course if she is the only consort it's a little saver and easier, but not much. Haven't read this yet but lets hope FL has high tolerance of poisons.
