Funeral Director" – a special being who lays to rest souls bound by regret that have become evil spirits in the "Borderland," the world of the dead between this life and the next. Alice, a girl in black who serves as such a funeral director, quietly continues to exorcise evil spirits that are impervious to all weapons and magic. Lost memories, twisted love and hatred, and deepening mysteries intertwined with complex motives. As she sees off lost souls, she continues to cross the "Borderland" today. A gothic fantasy opens, as the maiden in black lays to rest the lamenting, wandering dead.

After the gardener was very clearly killed by unnatural and probably not human means, I would have been on edge and maybe consider a monster since those exist in the world. After the maid I'd understand some supernatural killer is on the goddamn house and would have evacuated until it was cleaned out.
