I'm sorry but I'm 4 chapters in and ML is not a person. I feel like a lot of manga make the mistake of making a love interest that's basically a glorified buttler, they have no personality, no morals, ambitions, no opinions, the FML says jump and they do it. We don't get to see the ML disagree with the ML and their opinions clashing because ML doesn't have any opinions aside from, "This girl is special." It's the same problem I have with Beastmen themed stories where the male lead that's an animal gives into their animalistic instincts fully and we don't really get to see a hint of their personality. We don't know if he's pro royalty, if he hates slavery, if he has a favorite color because whatever the FML's opinion of those things will immediately be his opinion in 2-3 panels.
I hear or is it read you? But the more annoying thing about these stories. Is the treatment of the girl without magic being severely mistreated over something she can't control. While the other one is being praised and constantly seen as kind. While being extremely sluty and most likely cruel. Yet it's all good! What's up with that?
