Translator note felt wild. She was a 16-18 year old girl who was tortured both mentally and physically; however she found a mentor who later betrayed her on the most basic level. During all of this she was being abused and manipulated by her family, her fiance and had no friends since Maria had been dismissed in that timeline. Then to be killed at the hands of her younger brother would leave an absolutely gaping wound, which she has demonstrated repeatedly even though she's much stronger in this lifetime. For her to start her life again at the beginning of she abuse her leaving to save herself isn't abandonment--she chose to live. She could have been a bitter or monstrous person focused on revenge but instead she's chosen to be better to the point she's altering the characters around her. As an older teen I can't imagine how much strength that takes to do it not once but TWICE. With the introduction of the princess it's only a matter of time before that sleazy professor makes his approach. Between both lifetimes I would estimate she's at most mid to early 20s so part of me hopes she's a "youthful mistake" and ends that predator. If he can't use her he's going to use someone else and no one who makes that much poison is a good person.
