I fully do not believe that she "can't find the right timing" to say "By the way, I want to/I am teaching at an orphanage." It literally takes two seconds, requires no set up, and him also being busy when he's not at work isn't even remotely a reason not to bring it up. This is just an incredibly blatant and heavy hand of the author to force drama, and done very poorly.
