The parents neglected her and didn't show her any affection because...they saw she was trying really hard to live up to expectations they (secretly) didn't have for her? Literally none of this would have happened if either of her parents had just said "We love you no matter what. Its ok for you to not have magic."

The mother was perfectly fine standing by the door. Why did she have to go and drag her back? Idk about you lot, but after waking up after being executed like that, one should've been emotionally exhausted. Who can still handle such drama?

Is it wrong of me to have hoped that she go to the convent instead of staying with them?
