Anastasia, a duke's daughter of commoner origin, is married off to the young head of an earl's house as a sacrificial lamb to ease her family's financial troubles. On her disastrous wedding night, her new husband Eugene delivers a line devoid of originality: "I have no intention of loving you." Expecting this cold treatment and never hoping for a warm welcome, Anastasia does not despair. Instead, she drops her facade of a timid, obedient lady, curtsies gracefully, and smiles. "Let's become business partners, my husband."

Up to chapter 6
It's fine, just a couple weird things. The story insists FL is a commoner that was forcibly adopted (kidnapped) into a noble family to be sold off for marriage, but to be clear, she is a highly academy educated woman and both her parents are nobles, they just eloped. She even has super shiny special golden hair that only royals and royal-adjacent have. The author basically made sure she was as noble as she could possibly be while still technically not being one.
The other thing, is that while he's not technically malicious, ML has the maturity and intelligence of a 12 year old. Seriously, he feels like a doofus boy whose bad with girls from a middle school romance story.
I think it’s implying that after they eloped they became commoners so in the eyes of nobility that also made her also a commoner since her parents had lost their status despite their lineage
Yeah so….wheres the DOWN vote button?
I'm all for redemptive ML stories where they're bad at the beginning and become better gradually, but there's some nuance to it. Generally I like when the FL has a good reason to be mad and the ML has at least a defensible position for why they were cold. Maybe they were raised without love, or they've been scorned too many times by manipulative women in the past, or maybe they're being overworked and genuinely do not have time for their wife and they try to make up for that neglect when they're hit with the reality of their neglect.
But this... The ML feels weirdly naive and childish. Like, ML decides to be mean to FL because his rich noble friends said you had to be mean to commoners to teach them the hierarchy. And while I think that could work it.... I don't know, it kind of feels like the ML doesn't understand that that could actually hurt her feelings. He feels weirdly naive about the world, like to the point where I don't know if he really understands that words can hurt a person's feelings. It's not that he doesn't care about hurting people, it's that he just doesn't understand how his actions can affect others.
I don't like him at all.
ML who thinks bullying his commoner wife is a good idea gets surprised that a Duke's family would bully their commoner relative.
FL looks so beautiful!
His behavior is that of a 13-14 y.o. child because even my 16 y.o. is more mature than this. Certainly not a behavior I would expect from someone who is the head of a household.
Not gonna comment on that flashbang?
Oh, he's an idiot.
And I like this couple. She is smart and strong, her commoner's background leads her to act and tackle problems instead of relying on someone else. He is naive in his character, but seems to be capable regarding his duties. In the latest chapters you can see, why he turned out like that - the whole territory is a country of eugenes. A culture shock for hardworking people like her FL. You can see what happens if you spoil all your citizens for generations. And if you think about it - it is pretty realisitic.
Hahaha. Go, daria!!
It's fun. For once there is a role reversal between the ML and the FL. Yes, the FL has still the 'poor circumstances' and has been bullied, but once she marries and removes her 'obedient' mask, you notice that she's much more shrewd than her husband who's the 'innocent' type. It seems from what the house staff say that he's been very sheltered for some reason we don't know yet. Let's see where this will take us.
