I love the ML so much, really! He takes this girl who spends all her time keeping her family and friends alive and well and puts her in the palace! And then he sends her family and friends to an active war front without her there to heal them! Man he is so kind when he has tea with her while she has to think about her father being stabbed without her there to help. Such a kind prince to have her sit around not healing dying people who she cares about!

So far this ones feeling like one of those manga where FL has a strong will, knows exactly what she wants in life, and has the capability to achieve it...but then every single other character conspires to rob them of their dreams and force them to live a life completely opposite of what she wants. FL lives in a fort that deals with so many "bandits" that it would be more accurate to call it an active war zone, and the only reason it hasn't been overrun and everyone slaughtered five times over is because of FL's healing magic. All she wants is to stay with the people she loves and keep them safe with her magic. So she gets sent to the capital while all of her friends, family, and loved ones are sent to a different war zone so she can't do anything to help her loved ones. She specifically says she doesn't want to become a saintess because she heard the saintess might have to marry the prince at which point she'd never be able to go to her family and help them again. Immediately upon arriving in the capital she's forced to join the list of saintess candidates anyways, and the prince starts hitting on her as soon as he see's her. She's a 13 year old btw, you know, a middle schooler by modern reckoning. In fairness the prince is 17, but he's also abusing his authority to drag an unwilling child around so he can hit on her. The synopsis mentions her becoming a Crown Princess Candidate and having to struggle with life in the court. Just let this child be with her family! Its also where her incredible powers would be the most use! I hate what the story has established so far.

Every story I've read like this before ends with FL deciding that actually her dreams aren't important, and marrying the ML is way better than whatever silly things she cared about before meeting the cute boy.

Chapter 01

So far I'm not liking cousin Noah and how little he seems to care about what his cousin wants, especially if he's trying to turn her into a child bride.

Also... wouldn't this kingdom want healers near the war fronts?

Exactly! Like I’m confused as to why they would put a marriage contest before the safety of those who are literally fighting to protect their borders 😑

I know this is from months ago, but I feel the need to clear this up for any other new readers confused.

The reason Lily was recruited initially is entirely because someone else wanted to make her their assistant, unrelated to the needing of a Saint.

Furthermore, the reassignment of the West to the East is entirely unrelated to her being recruited by her cousin. Her cousin's goal was the get her enough free time to at least visit the royal capital, and his method of doing so was to send more people to the west since their main issue was being understaffed.

Now this last part is gonna be a bit of a spoiler, so read no further if you want to avoid the main misunderstanding.

The Saint being the crown prince's new fiancee is a complete lie. That's a rumor that started I believe by one of the Saint candidates' families so they could pressure the crown prince into a marriage?? I could be misremembing the details of how it came about but its definitely a rumor started by someone else. Noah, being the crown prince's aide, knows this is a lie and therefore wouldn't be trying to make her a child bride even if the goal was for her to be a Saint candidate. He just knows she's a talented light magic user and they need one of those.

Chapter 07

It pisses me off that a little girl like this has been tricked and forced into a position she never wanted that leads to her being harrassed by tons of people all for something she never wanted in the first place. And worst part is that in stories like this, they never get what they want. They can never just have a peaceful life, she'll likely never be able to go back to that peaceful village. She's almost certainly going to be forced into marrying the prince and taking up a role she never wanted and loosing all her freedoms all in the name of 'love'.

Chapter 16

That king is amazing! He talks out of his other hole! No wonder he's the king. Who else talks such crap with nothing to back it up?

Good manga, you got the classic heroine and villainess being their own version of selfish nimrods, while this girl is just doing her job.

Sending family and friends to a warzone is a bit off, but its probly a touch of realism, such things did happen in those days, though her mother also going was kinda odd.

The theme of this series is "adults mess things up so it's up to the teens to fix their messes." There's still responsible adults here and there but most of them are bothersome. Conflicts are treated a little lighter than in other manga. It feels juvenile but in a good way. The main lead is a 13 year old girl with strong healing magic and is a self taught prodigy. She does act like a girl that age that has dealt with a lot so while she may be willing to help at a moment's notice, she still gets scared and needs comforting. Overall a pretty decent series but sometimes the story drags a bit. I also wish earlier conflicts got resolved before new ones were introduced.
