UMM... What is happening 😳? Am I misunderstanding or is Lord Kongo stealing Sayo from her husband? 😳 She stopped saying his bride. Then she started saying a bride. Lord Kongo said he decided to make her his bride alone. To forgive him this one time. What does he mean? Did he sleep with Sayo? Is he not passing the torch? What is happening 😳? I am worried 😟 I am also looking forward to the next chapters.
No he isn’t don’t worry. Lord Kongo decided to make his late wife his only priestess and wife so he is apologizing to her not Sayo (in the panel in which he apologies he seems to be looking at an object, likely something that belonged to her) for receiving Sayo's blessing/purification despite declaring he would only receive his wife's throughout his life, which is also why he is dying quickly since he doesn't want anyone but her. He only received it to live a bit longer so that he can hage more time to teach Hozuki how to be a proper fire god.
Sayo's power works great on him because she is not his wife but A wife of the fire god (that is present Hozuki) so it still works on him since he is a fire god and NO they did not sleep together, just Sayo's cleaning, cooking and massages are enough since she is a fire god’s wife and her purifying powers are particularly strong, she sees him as a father in law and him likely a daughter in law as well.
She strarted saying wife because Kongo advised her to not say to Hozuki she's his wife to avoid having too big of an impact on the future (since they don't know anything about how she came and how to send her back) which Sayo understood, she didn’t even want to say she was married since that raises the question on who she is married to to past Hozuki but she had a slip of the tongue.
