Why did the removal of an incompetent and corrupt 2nd prince cause a succession struggle when there was already a Crown Prince whose position was only strengthened by the situation?
Think about it like this, it is easier to control a fool than a wise man. People would want the second prince to use as a puppet beside the 2nd prince probably wasn’t stealing alone. People will always be divided over who takes the thrown even if there’s a crown prince.
If Ashley had let two princesses get torn apart by an angry mob of rebels, there would be such a massive reaction that either the rebels would be crushed and purged instantly or a civil war would erupt. There's no way it doesn't immediately escalate to the capital filled with knights and soldiers, and further violence immediately.
Then again, I don't really understand the strategy of a future king fostering an anti-monarch rebellion. As they've shown, there are two factions, and both want to bring down the monarchs. Nobles want to remove all competent royals, and install a powerless puppet king. The commoners want to kill the royals. So...ML has no faction backing him up. A competent noble could probably manipulate the rebels into supporting the nobles by painting themselves as different from the royals (just like modern politicians that convince working class to vote against their own interests).
She got an equally mixture of both her parents 🤣🤣🤣🤣 so cute. I always love to see both parents being actually “parents”.

Like others, I also thought that it's simply stupid to leak infos to the maids before she checked their loyality. Honestly, how dumb or naiv could she be? And even afterwards, she didn't pressure her to tell her the truth. The princess could have avoided the whole scenario. Pretty frustrating, she seemed so smart and capable at the beginning....
But it's also not her fault alone. The prince is the same (and his chancellor). If I would secretly planning a revolution, i would make a complete background check on everyone in the palace - even if they are not incuded in the schemes. It would be found out sooner or later, even if the princess didn't leak some information. As a crown prince he is too kind, too naive and not capable enough to pull this off. And considering his position, he should have the power and brain to change the country even without a revolution.
Ah, but the story started so great, I still have hope it's getting better again. A small hope, I know. Dear author, why did you turn a intriguing story with strong MC into a soft Rom-Com? I don't understand. Somebody please rewrite it....
I have tried to read this story multiple times and this review is mote like note to myself not to try again...
The series feels so stupid. All the elements for the good story are there, but the execution that is supposed to be intelligent, little funny and mostly serious just feels really cheap and empty.
I don't know that telling a bunch of maids secret and potentially sensitive political information. If the enemy has any spies in her house, she may have just done something incredibly bad.
Her parents are awesome. Revenge? Eh. Taking advantage of the situation? Score.
The crown prince just gave everyone a view up FL's skirt. I know it would be full of petticoats, but that's still incredibly humiliating for the time period where those dresses were worn.
