It Seems I Was Caught Up in Someone's Regression
Irene has been the acting queen for 20 years, single-handedly managing the country's political affairs while her warmongering husband, King William, was away at the front. The day after she finally ends the long war and is about to hand over all administrative duties to the returning king and take a long-overdue rest, she suddenly wakes up in a strange bed. When she looks in the mirror, she finds herself 20 years younger, back in time, on the day before the tea party where she was chosen as the crown prince's fiancée.She is shocked and furious to learn that the twenty years of her life she gave to the state have been undone. Realizing she was caught in someone else's regression, she decides to do things differently in her second life. She refuses to become the crown prince's wife, determined to live a life of leisure. However, in her place, her beloved younger sister is chosen as the new crown princess, setting the stage for a new and unexpected future.

FL realizes sister has also gone back, sister realizes that being a hyper-competent queen who knows and does everything by herself actually takes work, and the prince continues not to give a shit about anything.
Seriously, is the prince clinically depressed or just someone who absolutely does not want the royal lifestyle? At a minimum he's definitely some kind of neurodivergent.
I don’t think the prince as a single thought in his brain other then swordsmanship. It is strange that the Queen and King haven’t seen how lacking he as a prince and future king. Maybe he think because he’s a prince then everyone should do everything for him?
If the prince continues to act like not a single brain cell in head then I worry about the kingdom future. No wonder the FL had to do everything and why she’s was fed up of with him, I would too.
Good read, basically lil sis is hinted to have turned back time to be crown princess but also isnt comically evil or the villain. More ignorant of the amount of effort it would take. The prince seems to remember too but its SUPER socially awkward. Strong FL who is crazy capable and just wants a chill life this time around
Up to chapter 5
Interesting premise, but we so far haven't seen too much of it. FL has regressed, and we've gotten an implication of who the "true" regressor (one person so far makes a different decision from the prior timeline) but nothing confirmed, and FL hasn't yet concluded that she's "caught in someone else's regression." So far it has a very somber mood with FL frustrated at losing 20 years of hard work, and then uneasy with how things are now unfolding. I also get the feeling that FL is the type who can't stop herself from taking on responsibilities, and that's where she'll end up getting stuck in situations she claims she wants to avoid.
Also a funny note, from what I could tell looking up the writer and artist, they're past works are almost entirely BL, and it shows. Every single character looks like a handsome man, even the women. Also they have low-grade Yaoi Hands.
Well things are turning out better for FL than I had been expecting. Though I have a feeling the sister is going to try to bail on the whole princess thing and get back with her ex-husband at some point. I'll be honest, I can't say I hate the sister at this point. Is she selfish? Absolutely. But she's just kind of...vapid. She's too empty headed for me to actually dislike without her being actively malicious.
I just really hope FL doesn't end up with the prince aka the most boring man to have ever been born. Although it kind of feels like the kingdom is doomed if she doesn't, because she is so far the only person who seems capable of keeping the kingdom together with Prince Robot as king.
beep boop prince is on the cover so it seems very likely fl will end up w/ him
like, this chapter they kinda implied that the prince's warmongering actually led to less work for fl in the long run, but 7 chapters in and so little to show for him, he's a very uncompelling romantic candidate thus far
Girrrrl, she wants to be queen, so doing her homework meant to teach her how it’s going to be is going to make her a lousy queen
They seem to be hinting that the sister is a the "true" regressor...but if she was a capable Duchess at the end of the last timeline, shouldn't she be able to manage that beginning education for a crown princess? I know they said the education as a Duke's daughter wasn't sufficient, but a full Duchess with 15-20 years of experience surely shouldn't trip up at the starting line?
Perhaps it was her husband and their people who were trully capable and doing things for her behind the scenes especially since even their father admitted that they might have spoiled her a bit as they were all too soft on her. And as she was praised for her presence in high society because she is quite sociable, perhaps she thought that it was her own capabilities and that as she is being praised as a duchess then being the crown princess is just on the same level and requires just the same kind of effort.
Weaponized incompetence and just incompetence are personified in this story. Neurodivergence does not explain irresponsibility since I know neurodivergent folks who are competent and reliable.
If the aforementioned things are triggering to you, this story will be difficult to read.
Other than FL, everyone kind of sucks. FL accepts to be used as well. They aren't as heinous as other characters. Just incredibly incompetent at skills, empathy, communication, EQ, living as an adult.
I might check back to see where in the world the author was planning to take this story.
Read up to chapter 6 and ngl I wouldnt be surprised if the sister's regression isn't the first one.
Cant help but think that the prince may have triggered a regression before since he remembers fl's smile that faded and hence his focus on being a sword master (maybe their kingdom lost in the war against the country where the guest he did not respond to was from or sth and it also led to fl's death so to prevent it and rotect her, he chose to be a muscle head). And then next regression was triggered by the sister who merely thought that things were easy and that the prince do not care who the crown princess will be and it's her chance to show that whatever her sis can do she can do it too or better or that having the prince as a husband is better than who she was married to before after all, she was favorably looked upon by others when she was a duchess so perhaps she felt it was because she was capable so she decided to do things differently but because this is the 2nd regression, some side effects happened, which could be having both fl and the prince remember things.
Ofc this is all just hypothetical but somehow I can see it going to this direction. Lol
