He's just a moron? Well thats fine, we're all morons in our own way. Hmm? What's that? His moronic nature is amplified to absurd degrees In order to make a viable plot? Well it wouldn't be the first time I've read such. Hmm? Can you repeat that? His moronic illogical irrational nature is being portrayed as just a small quirky obstacle in the mountain of irreparable damage to their relationship?

If the premise was that he went a month without showing his face, then sure, you can play the "he's just shy and blushy" card. Not five years though. Also he fell in love with her when he was 23 and she was 15?
