This is a tale of revenge that begins with a single letter. Five years after the so-called “villainess” Rina was exiled from the kingdom, a letter suddenly arrives at the palace. It is addressed to the crown prince who condemned her and broke off their engagement. Yet the contents are strangely calm — as though the betrayal and exile had never happened at all. Around the same time, others involved in Rina’s downfall also begin receiving letters from her: the crown princess, her former best friend, and the prince’s knight. Fear, guilt, resentment, and curiosity begin consuming them as they search for Rina’s true intentions. But none of them realize that the letters mark the beginning of their slow destruction.

This one is VERY interesting! The way the plot is managed is new. You see what each character who wronged the MC is going through, their motivations and how each react to a single simple letter. The pen is mightier than the sword. I think this is how it's going to go and I'm all for it. Also interesting is that we got everyone's point of view except the MC's. She's a complete mystery but her presence can be felt in every page, every reactions every sentence and thought. She dominates through her absence and it's formidable. I'm very much looking forward to the development of this story.
damn, i ended up buying the other chapters because i had to know what happened next, and the end of chapter 6 has my mind reeling with all sorts of theories. gah!
Same! I also bought chapters (for first time ever) and holy moly, that's going to be "the ultimate revenge" because it's not going to be "repairable". I can't say more without spoilers for everyone else....
I really hope it's going to be a long story though, because it's just too good.
Yeah, it's pretty mean to let it end at this point right now. Is she dead and someone is acting on her behalf? Did she fake her death and live under another name? Will she return? And does the crown prince from another country have something to do with it?
Will the letters alone (mentally) destroy the people, who framed and abandoned her? Will they suffer but still try to find her to use her for their own purposes? Everyone seemed to be safe, but noone was actually happy after what they did. And they all want to find her for different reasons. Ah it's too much.
I think it would be interesting, if the poor guy's sister would have something to do with it. Maybe she is even the mastermind behind the letters. Because her life was also destroyed by the actions of those people. Ah I want to know what will happen next. I hope we don't have to wait too long for the next chapters....
Like other comments have said, this is a very good story. Only 3 chapters out and each one has added onto the other. Chapter 1 will bring up something that chapter 2 reveals, chapter 2 will question something and chapter three answers it, and even the ending of chapter 3 seems to be alluding to something mentioned throughout every chapter so far but that's just theory crafting on my end.
This could be same face syndrome kicking in, but looking at the preview images it looks like the prince introduced in chapter 1 is starting to realize something or is getting more letters, hopefully implying that this is a very quick turn around revenge story. I usually like these stories a lot but I'll admit that a lot of them feel like they pad out the revenge with unnecessary filler, while here it feels like the gears are already turning behind the scenes and her revenge is already underway. That being said, there could also be no revenge, maybe her revenge is a life lived well while everyone faces their own struggles over their past decisions.
To be honest, I really hope that it's going to be "life well lived" otherwise it's going to be very sad.
I think life well lived strategy can only really work one way, with everyone else working themselves into a frenzy over what she's planning. Like if they're conspiring to outmaneuver her in a game of chess and figure out how to stop her revenge. Meanwhile she genuinely has no plans and everything is just the result of the others accidentally stepping on each other's toes.
Artlapsa won. I caved in and bought coins, because this is insanely good. And unlike other insanely good series (like Liberated from my Villainness Role and The Villainnous Noble Ladies Will Not Waver) you know that each chapter here is a bit of a "stand alone" puzzle part of the whole story, so you are not left with being half way through the real chapter.
But I am not going to buy any more once they start splitting chapters as they usually end up doing to get more money

But this one her is pure evil. Ruby's actions are abominable, acting as a friend for so long and using the perks, connections and status of being Lina's friend while spreading bad rumours about her and bring her downfall. She doesn't seem to have a single shred of guilt for backstabbing her friend of many years!

I thought so too. It could be a possibility, but I could see her dying but helping the crown prince from the other nation before she did. Perhaps, he could be seeking revenge on her behalf
Yes that’s also possibility but I would prefer for her to have faked her death and is living her happy life as a crown princess of the other nation. She deserve all the happiness and that’s also another form of revenge to those people who ruined her life, to see her living a happy life with someone who treasure her.

In my opinion, the best part of the story is the realistic insight of the different characters. There is greed, envy, fear, regret, obsession, love, hatred,... Nobody of them acts because of some foolish reasons or idealistic dreams - they just want to save themselves. Ironically, that's what leads to their ultimate ruin. It's almost a character study. Really awesome.

I don't know why every other reviewers is praising this series so much. This is a standard "villainess was actually a heroine" series. No original hook or premises here. "Now that I'm dead, are you satisfied" is similar but much better
