Mmh. Wish there was an emoji reaction for thumbs down too, since there's one for thumbs up. It's not enough for me to say I hate this, but would want a more toned down way of expressing my dislike for it.
I got turned off by the ML being so insistent on having sex with her, even when she was saying no and told him he was scared. "Ah yes it must be scary... but i can't help it, I must make you mine tonight, you've awaken my desire!!" like ew. Ew ew ew.
Sure, we get to hear FL's thoughts and it's heavily implied that she didn't resist more than that because she was also feeling something/into it, but to me it was still vague enough that it felt like she was forced to it. And she was! Silence isn't consent, a strong yes is.
To me this didn't give the impression it's a smut, and considering how little we saw of the action, yeah doesn't seem like it is. Just a josei showing some of it. Makes it worse for me, honestly - I can forgive atrocities and weird things (to a degree) in smut as I'm not one to kinkshame, and those stories heavily lean on the whole "sexual fantasy" of it all. However, to me, stories where the main focus is a romance and might have some sex scenes in them... they get harsher judgement. Anyway, I basically didn't read past the 1st chapter. If you liked this, good for you, but it isn't for me.
