I truly don't like the ml, double it and give it to the next person.
Let the fl have the spy instead who begged to save her life.
This is one of those stories where I like the FL, but I dislike the ML enough that it spoils the entire story.
The ML is described as a stern but fair man whose only concern is utility and justice, and who to be fair, will probably get character development to be more emotional and caring. However, as of chapter 6, he's a jerk whose sense of "justice" is more like cruelty and collectivist punishment. He thinks FL deserves to be executed because her dad was bad, despite her being the one who selflessly brought her father down out of a sense of actual true justice. He's only staying her execution and "marrying" her in order to use her as bait for her dad's accomplices that escaped the original mass arrest.
He also uses physical violence on FL, although the story tries to downplay that fact and skip by it really fast. The first time they're alone, he grabs her by the throat and threatens her life. The first time they sleep in the same bed (his decision) she cuddles him in her sleep, so he, as far as I can tell, punches her in the head. It says he uses his "iron fist" on her, she screams loudly and it shows a large comical bump on her forehead. It then also shows him grabbing her aggressively by the face, but not near where the bump is, so that can't be the source of the bump (also a face grab would cause wounds on the side of the head, not the middle of the forehead). I really don't like how it treats domestic violence as slapstick, especially when the guy inflicting the violence has also been threatening to kill FL.
The ml is pure trash and has no reason to be treating her so poorly. She never did anything wrong and helped catch the actual criminals so why is she being treated like this? Also he is a 39 year old man hitting and threatening a 17 year old girl. This whole thing is gross to me.
"he listens carefully and judges fairly"
A girl serves up her criminal family on a silver platter to him in an act of pure self-sacrificing justice, fully expecting that she herself will die as well, but simply being unwilling to do anything but what is right. And he judges her a criminal because she shares blood with the man she brought to justice.
This is why I can never learn to love these type male leads. Trash from the beginning.
The comments make it sound like the ML is a monster, but he's a perfectly rational guy imo. I wouldn't trust the daughter of a criminal family either. It's pretty interesting so far, though the translation makes it hard to pick up nuances, especially with the prince guy.
That rope just instantly broke in two places meaning it was incredibly weak, which is good, because FL literally pushed him into the noose and down.
Please I’m begging change the spelling from Lilon to Liron. Liron is an actual name and rolls off the tongue so much better please. 😭😭😭
Imagine doing all the work people have been trying to do just to be executed for it. Then having to marry such a character. Life is unfair.
Just reading cause of FMC
Is gay or wha- 👽
in my opinion, this story is pretty good so far The male lead is a bit stiff, but there's room for him to evolve. He's got potential. i like the servants too
It's a shame that Diet isn't the ML.
You think she spent years insuring her family's crimes were finally exposed and got herself arrested in order to...reduce her punishment? Is ML an idiot?
