Oddly, white savior coded. I'm surprisingly enamored tho because the art changes to Kaji-coded and Everytime that happens I laugh so hard.
Is it good? If you look over the white savior stuff, it's entertaining. I give it like a 7/10, 6/10 if it the art was mediocre.
I'm not entirely sure if the Civilized Vaguely Asian Coded Culture fixing the Crude Fully Western Coded Culture is really "white savior", its more the exact opposite.

Ah yes, just being a suspect is a crime. Truly, guilty until proven innocent. Bud thought not finding a mate would lead him to ruin, yet he is leading himself to ruin with one.
It was Okay... Well, it was amazing until it was confusing and weird in a, "There's an incest in this? Where did that "lover" come from?!?" Kind of way...and the FL is a freaking "Innocent Lily", whatever that is. But, it feels right to call her that. A "Saint", but an irritating one to boot.
The Romance was nonexistent, where the heck did "Shadow boy" come from?!... I was hoping for FL to get with the chancellor or whatever he was. I mean, why make him seem important if he was just chopped liver? He was plain and bland as heck. He's got no backbone, a spineless man to the bone to make "FL's Knight" in shining rags, who was a background character, a "potential lover". Like, the chancellor had more scenes than the "Lover Shadow". Like, "HUUHHH?!! I thought you said she was like a Little sister?!?". It was like Truck-Kun got lost and forgot who he was supposed to reincarnate!!! I'm not into BL/GLs, but I thought there was going to be a BL between "Shadow Lover" what's his name, and the knight. I was on board and everything...
I don't know, y'all. And don't get me started with "Norn" or whatever her name was (The knight's adopted sister). I thought there was going to be a teenage romance between her and angel/demon boy, but it suddenly turned into an "Incest" love between her and her step-brother?!? NOOPPEEE!!! Freak to the NO! This is confusing as heck, the Plot ran away and left the Manga. I might drop this or something...
It's alright, but falls into the usual pitfall of, "Beastman are more animal than human and literally can't think for themselves and default to animal instincts," but at the very least we see the fallout from this animalistic behavior, and people in universe acknowledge how it's a problem and the ramifications of a culture that relies more on animal instincts than human morals and reasoning. Read up to chapter 13, it's good. Really hoping that she doesn't end up with the Beast-King and at this point I'm not sure if the author does either. But, I've been disappointed in the past when authors write a clearly bad guy, give us dozens of reasons not to root for him, and suddenly we have to accept that he's the male lead.

So the Mate is trying to initiate affairs...is this "fated mate" thing only one way? If so, that's really fucked up. Seems more like a curse than anything else.
I find it hard to believe that a species with "fated mates" in this way would actually end up with a class society as rigidly hierarchical as this. Also, a king this weak minded who also doesn't care about politics would quickly just become a figurehead and his baby sitters, I mean ministers, would just run the kingdom around him and straight up not let him raise taxes for his mate, giving whatever excuses they feel necessary.

If she was actually just being protected, why make her believe she was abandoned and put herself at incredible risk for so long? Did the sister suddenly remember she forgot to tell FL, and only wrote it recently? Did the demon kid just forget to deliver it until now? Or was there an order to only deliver the letter once FL seems traumatized enough?
