I Don’t Mind Being Banished! As a Genius Saint, I Can Shine Wherever I Go
“I’m being exiled? Fine by me. Because I get to choose how to use my power!”At 18 years old, saintess Miktea is hailed as a genius and serves as the highest ranking saint in the Central Temple. But suddenly she is demoted and relocated — freed from the overwhelming duties of the central temple, she sets off cheerfully on a journey. On the way, she meets Lionel — a knight part of the monster-slaying special unit — and together they begin to save people and travel the land. Though their first meeting is rocky, the two gradually draw closer. As they investigate a strange crisis in the kingdom, Miktea begins to realize that her value and identity aren’t determined by others. This is a “strong saintess & strongest knight” love-fantasy adventure.

Pretty good so far. Seems like the world is pretty fleshed out with the magic, setting clear limitations for other saints, priests, and mages, explains the differences between each, seems to give some hints as to why the FL is the way she is. Also like that literally everyone including the FL herself recognizes how dumb the banishment was and that the only reason it happened was because the guy at the very top doesn't have anyone above him to veto it.
The fact the high priest is above the king is interesting….
It's actually quite honest.
Even IRL religion leaders often had the real power. UK solved that making the King/Queen highest religious leader, similar to what Japanese Emperors or Pharaohs once were, but overall... Kings/Tsars/Emperors etc. often where influenced or puppeted by the religious leaders. To this day, for example, in South Korea - many of their country's leaders follow shamans. Or Japanese leaders are part of religious cults.
Please don't make out with someone as treatment for hyperventilating...
It's times like these when you are reminded that these rage quitting fantasy stories are based on all too real Japanese corporate drone experiences.
So I'm guessing the church is selling wood from the tree off to the neighboring country, and that's leading to its decline and the collapse of the country's barriers. Maybe they overloaded FL with work and then got rid of her because they worried she'd find out and stop them.
...why is the magic of priests heretical?
